Who gives a shit because I am the person I am, due to fighting against the odds.
There is no point sooking about it, just get on with living.

I am determined to have people listen to me.
Powerful words are mighter than swords.
Open up to be the person by being strong in your heart and mind.

My passion is giving kindness out to people who are down on their luck.
It is important to give love out to other people and also love myself.

My name is Nell McMillan. I have an OAM.
I am one of four nominees for the Local Hero of the Year 2026 for Tasmania for my advocacy work for people who live with a communication disability.
It is a human right to be heard through different ways of communicating between human beings. Our voices matter just like everyone else.
