Dr Monica Cuskelly, member of the Tasmanian Disability Inclusion Advisory Council

Monica Cuskelly is a developmental psychologist who has spent 30+ years undertaking research on issues relevant to the lives of people with a disability and of their families. Her work is aimed at increasing understanding to provide a foundation for effective action.

Recent research foci include the impact of siblings on the cognitive and social development of children with autism, the expectations of the future as held by adults with intellectual disability and those who support them, housing for people with disability, and loneliness of adults with intellectual disability. She is a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.
