Disability Inclusion Action Plans are a way for government agencies and public organisations (sometimes called defined entities) to take real, practical steps toward becoming more inclusive of people with disability.
Under the Disability Rights, Inclusion and Safeguarding Act 2024, each plan should outline how an organisation will remove barriers, improve access, and support the rights and participation of people with disability in everything they do.
The Commissioner’s role is to support and monitor this process. We will provide guidance, check progress, and help ensure that these plans lead to meaningful change.
More information about Disability Inclusion Action Plans and how we will support their development and implementation will be shared as this part of the Act comes into effect.
