Join the inaugural Tasmanian Disability Inclusion Advisory Council

The Disability Inclusion Advisory Council will provide advice to the Minister for Disability Services and the Disability Commissioner on inclusion and access for Tasmanians with Disability.

The Minister for Disability Services now invites expressions of interest for individuals to serve as council members or as Chairperson to form the inaugural Tasmanian Disability Inclusion Advisory Council.

These paid roles will help shape change in government and community.

The Disability Inclusion Advisory Council will consist of at least nine, with a maximum of 11 people appointed by the Minister for Disability Services on the recommendation of the Commissioner. A majority of the members will be people with disability. The Chairperson will be a person with disability.

Expressions of interest for membership and the Chairperson role close on 24 March 2026.

What will the Disability Inclusion Advisory Council work on?

  • Providing consultation on the Tasmanian Disability Inclusion Plan – a roadmap for government action.
  • Assisting defined entities to create their Disability Inclusion Action Plans.
  • Advising on policy – identifying barriers and solutions.
  • Collaborating with other councils – sharing ideas nationally and locally.
